Kate Evans: Textiles and Craft Culture of Sikkim
A doctor of Human Geography, formerly of Swansea University and Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol, Kate’s research interests span relationships between the body and space, and tacit forms of knowledge and skills sharing. This talk brings together her experiences and insights gained whilst leading undergraduate field excursions to Sikkim, with her interests in craft and cultures of making. An articulate communicator at multiple levels in school, museums and academia, she recently left academia to set up her own pottery and mobile craft business.
